EWU's Theatre program is directed and chaired by Prof. Sara Goff (MFA Acting, Western Illinois University; AEA member; Cincinnati Shakespeare Company; sgoff@mail.ewu.edu). The programme is located at 526 5th Street, Cheney, WA 99004; 509.359.6390. BOTH DEGREES: The BA Theatre (non-teaching) and BAE Theatre (grades 4-12 teaching endorsement in Washington State) share the same foundational curriculum — acting, voice and movement, design, directing, dramatic literature, and theatre history. FACULTY: Prof. Sara Goff — Theatre Program Director/Chair; MFA Acting, Western Illinois; AEA; Cincinnati Shakespeare Company; sgoff@mail.ewu.edu. Jeffrey Sanders — MFA Acting, Western Illinois; directed Avenue Q, Heathers, The Tempest, The Seagull, Something Rotten, Urinetown. Jessica Ray — BA Theatre EWU 2009; MFA Costume Design, Illinois State University. Will Ledbetter — MFA Scenic Design, Ohio State University. PRODUCTION: Classical and modern plays, musicals, and new works throughout the year. Senior thesis + public performance required of all BA graduates. BAE: Partners with a professional theatre company for summer work opportunities. Leads to Washington State grades 4-12 teaching endorsement. WORLD LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT: BA students must satisfy EWU's world language graduation requirement. SCHOLARSHIPS: Bryan Jackson Memorial Scholarship — WATE (Washington Association of Theatre Educators); forms available first week of April in RTV 104. Theatre Angel Scholarship — $1,000; for high school seniors or prospective theatre majors; contact Sara Goff (sgoff@mail.ewu.edu).
