Stephan Friel — Saxophone; Jazz Studies. DEGREE OPTIONS: BM in Music Performance — all instruments and voice; intensive performance study; junior and senior recitals required. BM in Music Education — leads to Washington State K-12 music teaching endorsement. BA in Music — flexible; double-major compatible; world language requirement. BAE in Music — Washington State teaching endorsement (same as BM Music Ed but BA framework). BA in Music Technology — for students aiming for careers in music production, audio engineering, songwriting, and composing; includes courses from Engineering and Business; brief interview with faculty required for admission (not a performance audition). FACILITIES: 200-seat Recital Hall; Piano Laboratory (16 keyboard units); Computer Music Studio (digital-audio workstations; film scoring; theatre writing collaboration); 119 Music Building, Cheney, WA 99004. TALENT SCHOLARSHIPS: Up to $3,000; priority audition by March 15 for Fall entrance. 100+ public concerts per year.
