BFA in Dance and Choreography
Danish National School of Performing Arts — Copenhagen, Capital Region
About this program
Four-year internationally available BFA programme in Dance and Choreography at the Danish National School of Performing Arts (DDSKS) — one of the largest performing arts schools in Denmark, established in 2015 from the merger of nine Danish performing arts institutions. Delivered in English; open to international students. Curriculum centers on the actor/dancer as a creative and interpretive performing artist, combining rigorous physical training with theoretical study, and individual choreographic development. Training areas include: contemporary dance technique, choreography, improvisation, dance history and theory, somatic practices, digital technology in performance, and working with different communities. Individual projects culminate in a graduation work. Two campuses/approaches: Copenhagen focuses on choreographic making; Holstebro on performer training. Programme integrates artistic practice with reflection and research. 10–14 students admitted annually. The school is under the Danish Ministry of Culture and does not charge tuition for EU/EEA students; tuition fees apply for non-EU international students (more affordable than most US conservatories).
