About this program
The Bachelor of Music in Performance at Cairn University provides students with intensive applied study with esteemed, respected music faculty. The performance major prepares students for careers as professional performers, church musicians, and for graduate study at top music schools. Graduate alumni have continued studies at Manhattan School of Music, Peabody Institute of Music, Juilliard, Indiana University, and University of Maryland. The program integrates rigorous performance training with a Christian worldview, preparing musicians of excellence and integrity who glorify God by serving in the church, society, and the world. Cairn University was NASM-accredited in 1979 and is an All-Steinway School (since 2004 — approximately 90% of the University’s pianos are Steinways). The 150-seat Lewis Holmes Recital Hall (Steinway Model B grand piano) serves as the primary recital venue, with William Chatlos Chapel (three-manual custom-built digital organ, Steinway Model D, Baldwin concert grand) and Manor Hall (Steinway Model D) hosting larger ensemble performances.
