About this program
The BA in Theatre with Creative Dramatics track emphasizes educational/youth theatre, theatre for young audiences, and applied theatre techniques. The track provides specialized training in performance techniques for YA audiences. Course TE363 and related offerings “explore dramatic texts intended for child audiences” and “introduction to performance techniques for YA audiences as well as to major contemporary practitioners.” Students may participate in the Appalachian Young People’s Theatre-style touring productions (Aquinas has toured children’s productions to local underserved schools with shows like Rising Sun Rising Moon, Brave Little Tailor, The Troll and the Elephant Prince, and the Operation: Play! program).
