Per the program: “The Bachelor of Music Education with an Instrumental concentration prepares graduates to teach music in a variety of settings, including pre-kindergarten through grade 12 music and in individual lesson studios, with a focus on instrumental music. The program’s philosophy is to mold our students into ‘musician educators,’ who are proficient professional musicians who compose, perform or lead music in their communities and inspire students in their musical education pursuits.” “Music Education students gain fundamental teaching skills from the College of Education while pursuing in-depth training in the South Carolina School of the Arts on how to teach a wide range of instruments. Students also have significant preparation in teaching general and vocal music, leading to pre-kindergarten through grade twelve certification.”
