About this program
The BFA in Theatre Design and Production trains students in all aspects of technical theatre and design for performance — set design, lighting design, costume design, sound design, stage management, and production technology. Design Lab is described as “a studio for Theatre Design students to flesh out ideas in the early stages of production.” The Department has a Costume Shop: “a creative space where characters are brought to life through fabric.” Per department: “Whether your goal is to perform, design, stage manage, or tackle any other career in Theatre and Dance, the South Carolina School of the Arts is the institution where you will receive the highest level of training.”
