About this program
Xavier University of Louisiana's Bachelor of Music in Music Performance — Voice is a rigorous professional vocal degree rooted in Xavier's renowned 90-year opera tradition. Students receive extensive one-on-one voice instruction from faculty with opera and concert backgrounds, participate in the Opera Workshop, and perform in the Xavier Concert Choir under Dr. John Ware. Xavier has served as a historic home for Black opera singers and continues that legacy, graduating alumni who perform at the Metropolitan Opera and in major opera houses internationally. The program is fully accredited by NASM.
