BA in Theatre
Wittenberg University — Springfield, OH
About this program
Wittenberg University's Theatre and Dance program is rooted in student-driven programming that empowers emerging artists to explore bold ideas and amplify underrepresented voices. The program offers a Bachelor of Arts with concentrated tracks in Theatre Performance or Design and Technology. Guided by the department motto "Theatre is for everyone," the program emphasizes inclusive casting and production opportunities available to all undergraduate students regardless of major or class year. The curriculum places particular emphasis on exploring the work of playwrights of color, queer artists, and international theatre creators, using theatre as a lens through which to explore the world. Students benefit from a guest artist program that brings two national theatre artists to campus each year to direct mainstage productions, and the entirely student-run Lab Series provides opportunities for students to direct, produce, and perform in diverse theatrical works ranging from musicals to contemporary pieces.
