Valparaiso University (Valpo) is a private Lutheran liberal arts university founded in 1859 in Valparaiso, Indiana, enrolling approximately 3,400 students. The Department of Music is an accredited institutional member of NASM. Valpo has exceptional resources for church music including the Kantorei and its institutional connection to J.S. Bach's church through the annual Bach Institute. The BA in Music — Music Concentration emphasizes performance, theory, and history within a liberal arts framework.
