BA in Theatre
University of Wisconsin-Whitewater — Whitewater, WI
About this program
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Bachelor of Arts in Theatre is a broad-based theatre education program designed to provide students with comprehensive training across all aspects of theatrical practice. As part of a highly collaborative, hands-on program within the Department of Theatre and Dance, students benefit from a curriculum that balances theoretical knowledge with practical experience. The program is inclusive—anyone can declare a major and audition for productions—and offers flexibility to add a minor or second major. With five major productions staged each year and robust performance and technical opportunities, students earn course credit for participation in various roles including acting, directing, costume design, lighting, sound, and stage management. The program is well-resourced with dedicated facilities including the Barnett Theatre (380 seats), Hicklin Studio Theatre (black box), scene shop, costume shop, and design lab, all housed within the Greenhill Center of the Arts.
