BM in Music
University of North Alabama — Florence, AL
About this program
The University of North Alabama is a public university founded in 1830 — one of the oldest universities in the United States — located in Florence, Alabama, in the Shoals area of the Tennessee Valley. About 9,000 undergraduates are enrolled. The School of the Arts (SOTA), within the College of Arts, Sciences, and Engineering, houses the Department of Music, the Department of Cinematic Arts and Theatre, and the Department of Entertainment Industry. UNA's Department of Music offers a uniquely generous set of performance award opportunities: the Opera/Musical Theatre Performance Awards ($250–$1,000 per semester) are available to students of any academic major, not just music majors, encouraging broad participation across campus. The BFA in Cinematic Arts and Theatre is a limited-admission professional degree (16 students per concentration; 48 maximum per year) with audition or portfolio required. In-state tuition: approximately $10,000/year; out-of-state: approximately $19,000/year (confirm at una.edu).
