BA in Acting
University of Mobile — Mobile, AL
About this program
The University of Mobile is a Christ-centered Baptist university founded in 1961, located approximately 10 miles north of Mobile, Alabama, on an 880-acre wooded campus. About 2,000 undergraduates are enrolled. The Alabama School of the Arts (ASOTA) is the performing arts college within the University of Mobile, housing degrees in music, theatre, musical theatre, production technology, and worship leadership. ASOTA is notable for a remarkably generous scholarship policy: 100% of Alabama School of the Arts students who audition and enroll receive talent-based scholarships — this applies even to non-ASOTA majors who audition for a performance scholarship. Ensembles in the Roger Breland Center for Performing Arts travel internationally. Students gain professional-level experience in performing arts within a faith-informed environment. The university also offers advanced graduate degrees (MM and DMA in vocal performance) through ASOTA. Tuition: approximately $30,000/year (confirm at umobile.edu).
