About this program
The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) is described by The New York Times as "one of this country's leading conservatories" and is nationally ranked and internationally renowned. Founded from the merger of the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and the College of Music of Cincinnati (both charter members of NASM) in 1955, CCM became a unit of the University of Cincinnati in 1962. It now offers nearly 120 possible majors and produces more performing and media arts events than any other organization in Ohio. CCM's unique character comes from being a professional-grade performing arts conservatory embedded within a major public research university (UC enrolls over 40,000 students), giving students conservatory training quality alongside university research resources at a comparatively affordable public university tuition rate. CCM is situated in Cincinnati, Ohio — a city with a thriving performing arts infrastructure including the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Opera, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Cincinnati Ballet, and the newly renovated Music Hall (one of the nation's most beautiful performance centers). Key CCM performance facilities: Corbett Auditorium (TAPS and music mainstage); Dieterle Vocal Arts Center; Mary Emery Hall; Memorial Hall; and a full suite of production, rehearsal, and recording facilities. Theatre programs are NAST accredited; CCM is a member of U/RTA and NASM. Ohio resident tuition approximately $14,500/year; non-resident approximately $32,500/year (confirm current rates at uc.edu). ALL CCM programs require a pre-screening submission via getacceptd.com/ccm. The Common Application is due December and pre-screening is due December (some programs earlier).
