The University of Central Arkansas (UCA) is a public comprehensive university in Conway, Arkansas, founded in 1907. It enrolls approximately 10,000 students and holds accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission. Conway is a growing city approximately 30 miles from Little Rock, known as an arts-friendly community that hosts the ArtsFest annually. The College of Fine Arts and Communication houses both the Department of Music and the Department of Film, Theatre, and Creative Writing. Notable facilities include the Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall (1,200-seat) and the James M. Bridges Larson Stage. The UCA Music Department presents more than 200 performances annually and supports the semi-professional Conway Symphony Orchestra alongside its academic ensembles.
