The University of California, Irvine (UCI) is a major research university in Orange County, California, founded in 1965. It enrolls approximately 30,000 undergraduates. The Claire Trevor School of the Arts (CTSA) — named for Academy Award-winning actress Claire Trevor (UCI trustee and alumna of the Stage) — houses four departments: Art, Dance, Drama, and Music, and is home to the Irvine Barclay Theatre. The Drama Department has one of the most active musical theatre programs in the UC system, with UCI Drama alumni currently appearing on Broadway. The Dance Department offers a focused professional conservatory-style BFA. UCI is unique in the UC system for offering a BMus degree in Music Performance.
