About this program
The Crane School of Music is home to one of the world’s oldest and largest music teacher education programs. The Bachelor of Music in Music Education at Crane combines rigorous performance training with comprehensive pedagogical preparation. Students complete a strong foundation across all areas of music study with depth in education methodology and field experience. Music Education students can opt to complete the combined Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education in five years. The program leads to NY State teaching certification and prepares graduates for careers as music educators in elementary, middle, and high school settings, as well as private studios. Music Education majors have the option to complete a minor or concentration in specific aspects of their field or related fields.
