About this program
The Bachelor of Music (B.M.) in Performance program at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) develops the holistic musician within each student and prepares them to be relevant artists in a diverse, global world. TCNJ’s approach is to train future performing artists in a well-rounded Liberal Arts setting that is also in close proximity to the world-class performing centers of Philadelphia and New York, giving students the tools to become accomplished, innovative, and entrepreneurial musicians. The Music Faculty at TCNJ mentors every student closely as an individual within a diverse community. TCNJ’s Department of Music offers Bachelor of Arts in Music, Bachelor of Music in Music Education, and Bachelor of Music in Performance, plus minor degree programs in Music, Music Performance, Music Technology, or Theater. TCNJ is part of the elite group of approximately 200 select universities, colleges, and conservatories worldwide recognized as All-Steinway Schools. TCNJ has been ranked the top public institution in the U.S. News & World Report “Best Regional Universities — North” category every year since 1991.
