BFA in Musical Theatre
Tarleton State University — Stephenville, TX
About this program
Tarleton State University's BFA Musical Theatre program is part of the Department of Performing Arts, which serves over 300 talented undergraduate and graduate students with a distinguished faculty of artists, composers, conductors, playwrights, and performers. The Theatre Program encourages creative thinking and the development of multiple theatre crafts through experiences in design, rehearsal, and performance. A distinguishing feature of Tarleton's program is that all theatre majors—including those in musical theatre—begin their professional training during their first semester, gaining early exposure to a wide variety of performance styles and historical periods. The program provides a supportive, student-centered learning environment with small class sizes that ensure individual attention and hands-on training in acting, design, dance, technical production, stage management, and related areas. Students benefit from multiple performance opportunities throughout the academic year, including mainstage productions and departmental showcases.
