About this program
The State University of New York at Brockport is a comprehensive public university in Brockport, New York — a village on the Erie Canal near Rochester. Brockport's Department of Dance is nationally recognised, NASD-accredited, and among the strongest dance programmes in the SUNY system. The department offers BA and BS degrees in Dance (both requiring an audition for programme admission) and a BFA in Dance (highly selective, requiring a more intensive audition). The department has some of the best dance facilities in the country: its own fully equipped proscenium dance theatre, a large-space studio theatre, five studios, a body-conditioning lab, health pool, costume and scene shops, and computerised music and design studios. Faculty and professional staff are nationally and internationally recognised leaders in choreography, dance education, dance science, and somatic studies.
