BM in Music Technology
Stetson University — DeLand, FL
About this program
Stetson University is a private liberal arts university in DeLand, Florida — Florida's oldest private university, founded in 1883 — enrolling approximately 3,000 undergraduates. The School of Music is Florida's first collegiate music school, established in 1936 and NASM-accredited since 1938. It operates as an exclusively undergraduate-only music school with approximately 200 music students and 47 faculty — a 1:4 ratio ensuring a level of individual attention rare among US universities. Stetson music students have performed at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City, and have undertaken paid internships and collaborations with the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and AdventHealth DeLand. Jose (Kevin) Simerilla Romero '20 worked with the LA Opera while still a student, illustrating the programme's professional reach. The School of Music offers 13 individual degree options across performance, education, composition, and music academics — including Music Combined with Business, Music with Technology, and Music with an Outside Field, giving students unusual flexibility to combine musical excellence with other disciplines.
