About this program
Southeast Missouri State University's BA in Theatre program provides a broad-based, liberal arts education in theatre that gives students flexibility to explore all aspects of the performing arts. The program is housed in the Jeanine Larson Dobbins Conservatory of Theatre & Dance on the River Campus and is ranked the #1 undergraduate theatre program in Missouri and in the top 30 nationally. Students receive training from experienced faculty across multiple theatre disciplines and have access to extensive performance and production opportunities, including four mainstage productions annually, second-stage productions, and specialized festivals like the Lanford Wilson New American Play Festival and Fault Line Film Festival. The curriculum requires 47 credit hours of theatre coursework plus general education requirements, with students choosing electives to customize their training.
