About this program
Slippery Rock University is a public comprehensive university in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania — the only PA State System institution with all four fine and performing arts accreditations, including NASM for Music. The Department of Music offers a BA in Music (flexible, non-auditioned) and multiple professional BM degrees in Performance, Music Education, and Music Therapy. The Music Department faculty are distinguished performing artists and master teachers. The new performing arts complex provides world-class facilities for music practice and performance. Music therapy graduates are eligible to sit for the national CBMT board certification exam. PA teacher certification is available through the Music Education track. Ensembles span orchestral, choral, band, jazz, and chamber traditions.
