About this program
Seattle Pacific University's Theatre program provides students with opportunities to explore personal values, develop personal skills, and acquire techniques of insight and critical reasoning within a distinctive philosophical and artistic environment. The program is designed to expose students to a significant body of dramatic literature, theory, and historical study, leading to an informed perspective of theatre's role as a social, spiritual, and artistic institution. Students explore and develop themselves as both individuals and artists through rigorous training in academic, studio, and community settings. The program offers four emphases: Performance, Production & Design, Theatre Studies, and Teaching, with an extensive production program maintained. Key features include skill development in performance, playwriting, directing, designing, and technical theatre crafts, culminating in a required Senior Project that demonstrates mature artistic achievement.
