Salve Regina University is a private Catholic institution in Newport, Rhode Island — a historic coastal city. The university enrolls approximately 2,800 students on an 80-acre campus bordering the famous Newport Cliff Walk, set among seven contiguous Gilded Age estates with 21 structures of historic significance. The Antone Academic Center for Culture and the Arts houses the music, theatre, and dance departments. The BA in Theatre Arts at Salve Regina is distinguished by its emphasis on theatre as a tool for social change, community engagement, and acts of mercy — reflecting the Sisters of Mercy heritage. Three concentrations are available within the BA: Acting (audition required), Musical Theatre, and Technical Theatre.
