About this program

The BA (Hons) Acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) is one of the most prestigious acting training programs in the world. Founded in 1904 by Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree and granted a Royal Charter in 1920, RADA is based in Bloomsbury, Central London. The school has five theatres and a cinema on its Gower Street and Malet Street campus. RADA accepts up to 28 new students each year into the three-year program, with a 50/50 gender split maintained. Degrees are validated by King's College London. Admission is based entirely on suitability and a four-stage audition process spanning several months. RADA is one of the smallest providers of higher education in the UK, with approximately 193 students across all five courses in 2022–23. Applications are submitted directly to RADA using RADA Connect (connect.rada.ac.uk) and do not go through UCAS or UCAS Conservatoires. The application fee for the BA Acting is £39 GBP. Auditions are held in London as well as in New York City, Los Angeles, Dublin, and across the UK. Free auditions are offered to applicants with a household income under £25,000. Applications open in October each year.
