BM in Sacred Music
Reinhardt University — Waleska, GA
About this program
Reinhardt University is a private, Methodist-affiliated liberal arts university in Waleska, Georgia — approximately 40 miles north of Atlanta — with an enrollment of approximately 1,200 students. Founded in 1883, Reinhardt is strongly oriented toward the performing arts, housing its music and theatre programs in the Falany Performing Arts Center (FPAC), a purpose-built concert hall and performing arts facility that also hosts professional performances through the concert series. The School of the Arts at Reinhardt unites the Art, Communications, Music, and Theatre divisions. The School offers five undergraduate performing arts degrees: a BA in Theatre, a BFA in Musical Theatre, a BM in Performance, a BM in Sacred Music, and a Bachelor of Music Education (BME). The faculty describes the approach as "a conservatory style training program in a small, picturesque liberal arts setting" — emphasizing professional preparation alongside the personal attention and flexibility of a small campus. All four music degrees (BM Performance, BM Sacred Music, and BME) require audition for admission, as does the BFA in Musical Theatre. The BA in Theatre does not require an audition for admission. Reinhardt's acceptance rate is approximately 63%. Nearly all students receive some form of financial aid or scholarship. Merit scholarships are available specifically for performing arts students.
