About this program
Regent University is a private Christian university in Virginia Beach, Virginia, enrolling more than 13,000 students across on-campus and online programs. All academic programs at Regent are presented from a Christian worldview grounded in the Judeo-Christian tradition. Regent has been ranked among the Top National Universities by U.S. News & World Report and has been ranked the #1 Best Online Bachelor's Program in Virginia for 14 consecutive years. The School of Communication & the Arts (SCA) is home to Regent's performing arts programs and operates from the $35 million Communication & Performing Arts Center — a state-of-the-art 135,000-square-foot facility including a 710-seat proscenium arch theatre, a 195-seat experimental theatre, a TV studio, a film sound stage, nonlinear video editing suites, costume and scene shops, acting and dance labs, two film screening theatres, two recording studios, and a piano lab with 17 Roland electronic pianos. SCA offers undergraduate degrees across two performance streams: Theatre and Music & Worship Arts. Theatre programs include a BA in Theatre (no audition required), a BFA in Acting (audition required, on-campus only, entered in the second year), and a BA in Communication Studies — Theatre Arts. The Music & Worship Arts division launched five BM degrees beginning with the 2024-2025 academic year, expanding a program that had previously operated under a BA structure. All BM programs require audition for admission. Most programs are available on-campus only; some music and communication programs have online delivery options.
