Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is a large, research-intensive public university based in Brisbane, Australia, consistently ranked among the top universities for art and design in the world (QS World University Rankings by Subject). The School of Creative Arts is housed in the purpose-built Creative Industries Precinct at the Kelvin Grove campus, which includes television studios, music recording studios, voice studios, film stages, black box and flexible performance spaces, and sprung-floor movement studios. QUT renamed all Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees to Bachelor of Creative Arts (BCA), redesigning the programs to be more interdisciplinary and customizable. Under the BCA structure, students choose a primary major and may add a second major, minors, and electives across creative disciplines. The BCA in Acting (formerly BFA in Acting) is a selective, full-time program requiring a successful audition via the Acceptd platform and is not deferrable — applicants must start in the semester they are admitted. The BCA in Drama and BCA in Music are non-audition programs that welcome applications from a broad range of students. All BCA programs run for three years of full-time study and lead to the degree title "Bachelor of Creative Arts" with the major noted on the transcript. International students are eligible for QUT Excellence Scholarships. Domestic students may be eligible for HECS-HELP Commonwealth Supported Places. Applications for Acting are made through the QUT Application Portal (qtac.edu.au for Queensland-based applicants; direct to QUT for interstate and international applicants). Acting auditions are conducted via the Acceptd platform (app.getacceptd.com/qut) with a $75 AUD non-refundable submission fee.
