BM in Music Performance
Pittsburg State University — Pittsburg, KS
About this program
Pittsburg State University is a public regional university of approximately 7,000 students in Pittsburg, Kansas. The performing arts are housed in the School of Humanities and Fine and Performing Arts and centered in the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts — the region's premier destination for the fine and performing arts. The center features the 1,000-seat Linda & Lee Scott Performance Hall with a full theatrical stage, the 280-seat Dotty and Bill Miller Theater, and the 2,900-square-foot Rehearsal Hall. Theatre and Music students perform in both Bicknell Center venues and in the PSU Studio Theatre in Grubbs Hall. The Sharon Kay Dean Recital Hall and its Steinway concert grand piano host intimate recital and chamber music performances. PSU Music presents multiple major ensemble concerts per year and maintains an active Opera Theatre program that produces two fully staged productions annually, often featuring professional guest singers alongside student performers.
