BM in Instrumental Performance
Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University — Baltimore, MD
About this program
The Peabody Institute is one of the oldest and most prestigious music conservatories in the United States, founded in 1857 and a division of The Johns Hopkins University since 1977. Located in the historic Mount Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore, Peabody enrolls approximately 650 undergraduate and graduate students from over 50 countries. A Peabody degree is simultaneously a Johns Hopkins University degree. Peabody's facilities include numerous performance halls and practice rooms, with students having access to the full resources of the Johns Hopkins University. The faculty consists of distinguished performers and scholars, and the conservatory presents hundreds of public concerts each year. Peabody students benefit from dual access to the Homewood campus through the Double Degree program, which allows exceptional students to simultaneously earn a BM from Peabody and a BA or BS from JHU's Krieger School of Arts & Sciences or Whiting School of Engineering. Undergraduate application fee: $120.
