About this program
Oklahoma City University's BM in Music Theater is widely recognized as one of the most music-intensive musical theater programs in the country, training students with high proficiency in singing for a Broadway-style performance career. The degree combines rigorous music training with equally rigorous courses in dance, acting, performance techniques, stagecraft, and general studies. Students perform in all six of the Bass School of Music's annual productions — both musicals and operas — developing cross-trained versatility. Each student completes a junior recital in classical repertoire and a senior recital focused on music theater and related styles. Graduating seniors participate in a New York City Showcase where they audition for agents and casting directors.
