About this program
NWSA's BFA Theatre Performance curriculum has emphases in Acting and Musical Theatre. The Acting emphasis focuses on the fundamentals of physical and emotional preparation and on truthfulness and expressive power in performance. Training covers Stanislavski-based acting, improvisation, neutral mask work, movement, voice and speech, period styles, and Shakespeare. Acting students develop and apply their skills in studio and mainstage productions. Students complete their Associate of Arts with Miami Dade College in the lower division; the BFA is awarded by the University of Florida in the upper division. NWSA students must satisfy Florida general education requirements (36 credits).
