About this program
The Bachelor of Science in Theatre at Middle Tennessee State University, offered through the Department of Theatre and Dance in the College of Liberal Arts, is a comprehensive program accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST). Students pursue their passion for theatre while exploring and analyzing the world from multiple perspectives, with hands-on production responsibilities integrated throughout the curriculum. The program encompasses all areas of performance and design/technology, theatre in education, and dance, with theory and instruction carefully sequenced with practical experience. Students work with state-of-the-art lighting, costuming, and scenery equipment in recently renovated facilities including Tucker Theatre and Anderson Studio Theatre. The program is designed to prepare students for graduate study or professional careers in secondary school teaching and professional theatre, with no more than 50% of coursework (60 of 120 credits) in THEA courses.
