About this program
Lamar University's BM in Performance (NASM accredited) is designed for students who wish to pursue careers in performance, graduate study, studio sessions, or studio teaching. The program offers flexibility: classical track, commercial performance track (songwriting, production, entrepreneurship), or a hybrid. 4 semesters of lower-level applied music + 4 semesters of upper-level applied music required. Advancing to upper-level requires two-thirds approval of the sophomore jury panel. Junior audition recital and senior recital required (both pass/fail; two-thirds faculty panel approval required).
