About this program
Jacksonville State University's BA in Theatre — Performance Concentration combines courses in acting, speech, and movement with electives in directing, puppetry, and dance. 'Our small class sizes, close knit community, and dedicated faculty will give you the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed as a theatre artist.' PRODUCTION SEASON: Mainstage productions, student-directed one-acts, student films, staged readings, and other events throughout the academic year. Each season is 'chosen to provide experiences tailored to challenge and cultivate the growth of our students as artists,' mixing classical/period, contemporary, and varied performance technique approaches. SHAKESPEARE PROJECT: Annual production using professional actors and crew; eight consecutive performances. TYA: Touring Theatre for Young Audiences show every other year. STUDY AWAY: NYC and London study away programs available.
