About this program
Greensboro College's BA in Theatre offers five concentration paths within a single BA degree. 'All Theatre majors are required to complete an audition and an interview and provide a headshot, resume, and two letters of recommendation.' FIVE BA CONCENTRATIONS: (1) GENERAL THEATRE: Broad foundation in all aspects of theatre. (2) ACTING: Rigorous acting training; Stanislavski, Meisner, Shakespeare, auditions, acting for camera. Freshmen audition from year one. Preparation for graduate school, internships, or professional theatre. (3) COSTUMES: Costume design and construction. (4) STAGE MANAGEMENT: Management and leadership in theatrical production; student-directed projects at area schools and on campus. (5) THEATRE EDUCATION WITH LICENSURE: K-12 teacher licensure; fieldwork teaching experiences; semester of full-time student teaching. BOTH DEGREES prepare for graduate school and related careers.
