About this program
Gardner-Webb's Department of Theatre Arts provides 'a wide selection of performance, technical and design, directing and playwriting opportunities during each academic year's schedule of on-campus stage productions, as well as outstanding classroom study of all of the dimensions of theatre.' The department 'constantly collaborates with members of the greater community for shows.' CURRICULUM (48 credit hours): Performance; technical and design; directing; playwriting; theatre history and literature; theory. OPERA/MUSICAL THEATRE ENSEMBLE (MUSC 378): Available to ALL GWU students. Full productions alternate opera and musical annually (Dover Theatre; costumes, scenery, orchestra). Annual Evening of Staged Scenes (all sung in English). Director's approval required.
