About this program
Emory and Henry University's Music programme offers a BA in Music Performance and a BA in Music Education within the Theatre, Music and Dance Department. ENSEMBLES: Chamber Choir — premier choral ensemble; open to all students through audition; typically performs 1-2 concerts per semester including regional, national, and international tours on a 3-year rotating cycle; directed by Lisa Withers (Associate Professor of Music). E&H Invitational Choral Festival — annual event hosting 3-5 regional high school choirs for joint rehearsals, clinics, workshops, and performances with a nationally-renowned guest clinician; held at Woodrow W. McGlothlin Center for the Arts. E&H Brass Quintet — premier instrumental touring ensemble; tours throughout the region; 2-time semifinalist at national trumpet competition; twice featured as a collegiate trumpet ensemble at the International Trumpet Guild Conference; toured Austria and Germany; membership by audition. Trumpet Ensemble — select trumpet players; ceremonial and concert functions on campus; audition required. Brass Ensemble — concert and ceremonial functions throughout the year. PIANO STUDIO: Weekly hour-long lessons (MUSP 411) for piano majors; solo performance opportunities on student recitals and collaborative piano opportunities. BOTH MUSIC MAJORS AND SIGNIFICANT-TALENT NON-MAJORS are encouraged to audition for scholarships and ensembles.
