About this program
Connecticut College's BA in Theater is a liberal arts program emphasizing both craft and intellectual study. Chair Kenneth Prestininzi (playwright, director; former Yale School of Drama Associate Chair; Joseph Jefferson Award winner; kprestin@conncoll.edu; 860-439-5489). David Jaffe (Professor; Yale MFA acting; former NTI Director 8 years; 1977 CC alumnus; djaffe@conncoll.edu; 860-439-2562). Three theater spaces including Tansill Theater (130-140 seat black box, Hillyer Hall). Any student may audition for any production. Founding partner of the National Theater Institute (NTI) at Eugene O'Neill Theater Center. Up to $3,000 for student internships (O'Neill Center, Long Wharf Theatre, Labyrinth Theater Company). Senior Capstone Theater Festival. Wig & Candle student-run company (5-6 additional productions/semester). onStage visiting professional series.
