BA in Music Performance
Colorado State University Pueblo — Pueblo, CO
About this program
The Department of Music of Colorado State University Pueblo seeks to promote excellence in musicianship and to equip students for a career in music. The major in music leads to a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with three concentration options: General, Music Performance, and K-12 Teacher Preparation (Music Education). The mission of the department is to prepare undergraduate students to function professionally in their chosen field of music within the larger context of a liberal education, to provide artistic enrichment for the community, and to serve as an artistic resource. The General concentration allows students to design a program tailored to personal and professional goals; the Performance concentration is appropriate for those who plan to perform, teach privately, or pursue further study at the graduate level; the Music Education (K-12 Teacher Preparation) concentration is a professional degree leading to K-12 music teacher licensure in choral, instrumental, and general music through completion of an education minor and Colorado Teacher Education Program requirements.
