BA in Music Theatre
College of the Ozarks — Point Lookout, MO
About this program
College of the Ozarks offers a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theatre as one of three major options within its Theatre department, located in Point Lookout, Missouri, just a few miles south of Branson. The program is grounded in the college's distinctive mission emphasizing five pillars: academic excellence, Christian worldview, cultural appreciation, patriotic values, and vocational preparation. Students develop comprehensive training across stage movement, vocal training, acting, dancing, stagecraft, design, directing, and theatre history, preparing them for either graduate study or professional employment in theatre and related performing arts fields. The program benefits from the department's production of four shows annually—including at least one major musical typically presented in spring—performed in the 450-seat Jones Auditorium and intimate James L. Meikle Crossover Theatre. With access to over 40 professional theatres in the Branson area, students gain valuable internship and networking opportunities while working alongside accomplished faculty members specializing in acting, vocal training, directing, playwriting, lighting design, and technical theatre.
