BM in Music

Cleveland Institute of Music — Cleveland, OH

BMMusicCleveland, OH

About this program

The Cleveland Institute of Music's Bachelor of Music is the flagship professional baccalaureate degree, designed to provide intensive and comprehensive preparation for a professional career in music. CIM purposefully limits enrollment in most areas to ensure maximum performance opportunities in preparation for professional life — giving each student significant solo, chamber, ensemble, and competition exposure throughout their four years. All BM students complete a core of studies in music theory, eurhythmics, music history and literature alongside their applied performance major and intensive ensemble participation. The curriculum is demanding in both performance and academics, but ample hours are built in for lessons, practice, and performance. Every student presents an annual recital or other approved performance event and completes all jury requirements. General education subjects provide educational breadth; non-music courses are taken through the Joint Music Program with Case Western Reserve University.
