About this program
Cal Poly Humboldt's BA in Music offers three concentrations: Music Studies (no audition; foundational theory and history + performance opportunities), Applied Music (Performance/Composition; internal audition required no later than end of 4th semester), and Music Education Precredential (internal audition required). 'All Music Majors start at Humboldt in the Music Studies Concentration, which does not require an audition. In order to be on track to graduate in four years, students must audition and be accepted into the Applied Music concentration no later than the end of their fourth semester for students who began their degree at Cal Poly Humboldt.' SCHOLARSHIP AUDITION: Upload recordings of 2 different pieces or attend live audition day. Contact: Daniela Mineva (dlm85@humboldt.edu). INSTRUMENTS/VOICE: 'individual instruction in voice, orchestral and band instruments, piano, and composition.' KCACTF: Theatre Arts programme (Music students may participate in interdisciplinary productions).
