About this program
Beloit College's Bachelor of Arts in Dance is part of the Department of Performing and Applied Arts, which emphasizes a fundamental connection to the broad liberal arts and sciences curriculum. Students experience movement in a supportive and enjoyable environment where the objective is dance literacy, intelligent dancers, and sensitive viewers. The program is committed to educating the whole person, developing not only dance practitioners with artistic capabilities and understanding, but well-rounded human beings. Dance courses for students at every level of ability and experience are offered each semester, with small classes and one-on-one relationships with faculty enabling students to cultivate their artistry through collaboration, investigation, skill refinement, and contextualization of work using theory, history, and interdisciplinary perspectives. The department welcomes all performance makers and provides various opportunities to perform, design, and create throughout the year at the Hendricks Center for the Arts, engage with the local community, and explore the world.
